how to be calm and assertive

7 rules for more assertiveness

In this way how to be calm and assertive you become assertive without denying yourself

We all want to achieve our goals, and do so in the most authentic way. So always be yourself. Still, I'll give you a few tricks on how you can become assertive - in a sometimes harsh working environment.

Tip 1: Be clear and authentic!

Nothing is more annoying than people who sometimes talk like that. They are not tangible and often just irritating. In order to be able to achieve your goals, you should definitely be one thing: clear. Send your messages out in such a way that as many as possible understand them. Just leave out phrases like "It can be". And always stick to a polite tone that shows respect for others. Achieving goals is more than achieving goals - it's a game too

Tip 2: lay the foundations - who is what in the company?

Nobody works in a vacuum, especially not in the office. If you want to be assertive, you should first get some orientation. Who is what, who is important and assertive? Once you have recognized this, you will have the right people at hand, whom you can bring on board if you want to achieve your goals. Colleagues don't have to be friends, but they do have to be allies.

Tip 3: Find really good arguments - for yourself and for others

If you are convinced of a project yourself, you have already achieved a lot. Now it's time to convince others too. You are only able to assert yourself if you involve others and also think about their goals. Your task now is to look for arguments why they benefit your project. Find and name. It's a bit of work, but important. Because it feels really good when the others say “Great, we'll do that!”.

Tip 4: Use the fine art of diplomacy

Diplomacy may sound a bit high, but it also serves you in everyday life when it comes to being assertive. So you should never run into the wall like the bull, terrorize everyone around you. Rather, you should try to pick everyone up where they are and to advertise your cause through a gentle form of conviction . In the end, nobody will be able to resist you. The diplomat is the secret winner, she is subtly assertive!

Tip 5: Learn what makes men tick

It is common knowledge that men come from Mars and women from Venus;). But this is also another chance, because a "Martian" really works differently than you, he takes other things seriously and important than you. You should first accept that, then you can start doing field research. How do men behave in a conflict, what makes them assertive? Is it the pitch, the ignoring of others, is it rhetorical means with which they keep the word? Watch the boys closely, we can learn a lot from that. As decision-makers, the masters of creation are often important players, so get to know them better in their reactions - and vanities.

Being assertive is important, but there are other things waiting for you - friends, family members (nice ones!), Art, cinema, theater, great books, nature, so-called life, in short. Always make this clear to yourself: the job is the job - but there is so much besides !! Don't let conflicts in the office spoil your life. Every now and then I have a “Today I don't care about my job” evening. Then it's off to dancing, having fun, going to the cinema, flirting or touring the surrounding area. So, in short, your life is not at stake if you are at odds with colleague Meyer. Look at him and the conflict from above, from above, from where the planes are - do you see how small everything suddenly is?
