forgiveness quiz

Watch your boss and his / her boss

If you've taken the time to read this forgiveness quiz list, then I assume that you are competent and self-determined (or at least want to be). A second assumption, which borders on certainty, is that either your boss or his / her boss has certain character traits or quirks that may have a significant impact on your career (Warning: I didn't say they were incompetent! Although you guys possibly reminiscent of the Peter Principle , which states that in organizations people tend to rise to their highest level of incompetence.).

The point is that you need to become aware of what influences, motivates, inspires, irritates and satisfies your boss and his / her boss one level higher. Only when you have this information can you really understand it and climb the corporate ladder.

Become indispensable

We all know that anyone can be replaced, but your goal must be to make yourself as indispensable as possible - through your attitude, your behavior, and your productivity . Now, when you reach a point where you feel like you are not being honest with yourself ("sliming down"), then it is time to think seriously about whether you have chosen the right job and are in the right company . One kind of indispensability is to make an effort to help everyone you work with or report to, thereby becoming better than them. It takes discipline, but it really pays off in the long run; namely for YOU.

Practice turning differences into agreement

Someone once described management communication as the art of getting everyone to give a little so that everyone gains a lot. The second you add a second person to the human equation, compromise (or consensus) becomes inevitable. This holds true in personal relationships and in professional life. Practice motivating others by helping them find common ground. A point on which they can agree because it suits their own interests and the interests of others. Try to turn every task into a win-win situation for everyone involved as best you can. As long as you are successful, your reputation and indispensability will skyrocket.

Let actions speak for you

I grew up with the saying, "Actions speak louder than words." Imagine what it takes to be described by your boss or co-workers like this: "He / she gets the job done without knocking out big words". That doesn't mean you're taciturn or uncommunicative, just that your quiet competence as such ensures that people judge you based on your work first, and only then on your words. Appreciating people and is a role model on a large scale.

Take calculable risks

Be willing to take risks when the prospect of significant success arises without the possibility of catastrophic losses. Risks are necessary to learn. In fact, we usually learn more from our mistakes than from our successes. We learn by doing something and occasionally failing to do it. Failure can be the short-term price to pay for long-term success.

So if you are determined to have a career, stick to these 10 points.
